Medical Investors’ Dinner ’14 – Is a new property cycle starting?

The Prideview Group hosted the annual Medical Investors’ Dinner at Spice Rack Lounge in Stanmore on Wednesday 19th November.

The event was oversubscribed with 150 medical professionals coming from as far as Birmingham and Bournemouth to hear what we had to say about commercial property investment. Click here to see the event photos on our Facebook page.

Guest speaker Richard Auterac, the head of Acuitus Auctions, gave an update on the auction market and was clearly impressed with the turnout, joking that there were more people present than at some of his auctions!  He explained just how much money globally is chasing UK property, and suggested that we may now be entering a new commercial property cycle.

This was followed by Nilesh Patel and Jesal Patel, directors at Prideview, who talked about Prideview’s role as representatives of medical investors wanting to buy property either privately or in auction and the difficulty in sourcing ‘blue-chip’ commercial properties. They explained the fundamentals behind one of the most popular assets being demanded by medical investors, namely convenience stores let to the big supermarkets. They ended by walking through 5 recent deals in great detail including several convenience stores in London and South England, a medical practice and a pub that is to be converted into flats.

The event also has had coverage in the press, being mentioned in several local papers and more importantly in the Estates Gazette on 29th November. This is particularly important as this is the leading magazine for property agents and professioanls and will help Prideview source the properties our medical clients require.

Select finance providers, solicitors and accountants had also been invited for prospective investors requiring any of these ancillary services. The fantastic turnout demonstrated the appetite for good quality commercial property investments amongst private investors and the fact that in today’s market where such properties are hard to find, it is essential that buyers consider being represented by an experienced firm who can source and negotiate deals privately or via auction.
